The Left Hand of Darkness

Just finished reading The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin. Such an amazing book!

The book is well-known for its reflections on gender/sex because Gethenians are ambisexual, I thought that was less critical to the story than I first expected.

Genly Ai is also obviously misoginist, which you can catch when he tries to explain the different between men and women in the story, funny.

Gethen is a cold planet and how most people live like Inuits, My favorite part of the book are the chapters narrating their escape from Orgoreyn in the Ice pulling a sled for 80 days. It seems Le Guin used as basis accounts/diaries from the first explorers of Antartica which is really cool.

Definitely recommend the book, my mind feel expanded after reading it.
